Explore resources designed to help young adults stay connected, meet basic needs, build life skills, and achieve their goals.

Fostering Success—Cellphone Program 

Through a partnership with T-Mobile, participants may receive a cell phone and service as they pursue education and employment, while actively engaged in THRU Project services.

Eligibility

  • Be enrolled in THRU Project mentoring for at least three months 
  • Maintain regular communication with their mentor and THRU Project Staff 
  • Be employed, enrolled in school, or participating in a vocational/educational program 
  • Complete required quarterly surveys.  

Length of Support

Participants may receive cell phone service for up to two years while remaining in good standing and meeting program requirements.  

At the end of the program:  

  • Participants may keep their device 
  • Phone numbers cannot be transferred to another provider 
  • Participants will lose the assigned phone number once service ends.

How to Sign Up:

Cell phone assistance is available to eligible THRU Project participants and is dependent on device availability. Speak with THRU Project staff to learn more.

Bus Pass Program

Reliable transportation is often the key to success for young people transitioning from foster care. Having access to a bus pass allows youth to secure and maintain employment, continue their education, attend important appointments, and build more independent lives. 

Eligibility

Through our partnership with VIA, THRU Project is able to provide free bus passes to youth and young adults with lived experience in foster care.  

Requirements

  • Have lived experience in foster care
  • Currently enrolled in one of THRU Project’s programs (Housing, Mentoring, BreakTHRU)

Drop-In Lounge 

The THRU Project Drop-In Lounge is a welcoming, supportive space where young people with foster care experience can connect, recharge, and access the resources they need to thrive. Whether they need a place to study, grab a snack, meet with a mentor, or simply feel supported, the Drop-In Lounge reminds every young person that they have a community behind them.

Eligibility

The THRU Project Drop-In Lounge is available to any of our program participants.

Food Pantry & Hygiene Closet

The THRU Project Food Pantry & Hygiene Closet provides young people with essential food, personal care items, and everyday necessities—helping remove barriers that can make it harder to focus on school, work, and building a successful future. It’s a practical resource and a reminder that young people transitioning from foster care don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

The THRU Project Drop-In Lounge is available to any of our program participants.
