Emergency grants are available to both degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students and will be given out as long as funds are available. These are one-time funds that are administered as long as a financial aid application is on file and if all financial aid, such as grants and student loans, are exhausted. Those without a FAFSA or TASFA on file or whose aid is not exhausted may be offered an emergency loan. This emergency loan will need to be repaid within the semester.

AlamoPROMISE covers tuition and required fees for current academic year graduates from participating high schools seeking an academic certificate or associate’s degree at one of the five Alamo Colleges: Northeast Lakeview College, Northwest Vista College, Palo Alto College, San Antonio College, and St. Philip’s College.
To become an AlamoPROMISE scholar, you must be a senior from a participating high school graduating during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
The Conditional Grant Program is available to eligible students pursuing a degree in engineering or a department-approved operational business discipline. The Conditional Grant Program will consider both Texas public and private four-year institutions. It will consider both Texas public and private four-year institutions. Students accepted into the program receive up to $3,000 per semester or $6,000 per academic year, based on financial need.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS. TxDOT’s Summer Internship Program is designed for high school and college students who are seeking to gain practical work experience in support occupations, vocational trade, and engineering jobs.
TxDOT hires students for various positions and pays them an hourly wage. The summer employment period begins May 1 and ends Aug. 15 of every year.
COLLEGE INTERNSHIPS. College and graduate students are introduced to career opportunities in transportation-related fields. Academic credit for work experience is awarded based on an institution’s intern policy.
